Baby Gill # 2 - 38 Weeks

How far along?
38 weeks. Oh. My. Gosh. In two weeks, we are going to have TWO kids!

Maternity clothes?
Like they're running out of style (because they are).

Sleep:
Anyone who tells you to "sleep before the baby comes" has clearly never been 38 weeks pregnant. Everything hurts all the time, my bladder constantly feels full, and my brain will not shut down at night for the life of me.

Best moment this week:
Having my mom moved out of ICU this weekend and the possibility of her being HOME tomorrow!!

Miss Anything?
Feeling like a normal human. And I miss my mommy.  A lot. I don't even care if I'm too old to say that.

Movement:
Lots of wiggles and squirms, and a few hard jabs here and there. He's also been sticking what I'm guessing is his little foot right underneath my right ribcage, which is super pleasant ;)

Food cravings:
I've been craving bulk candy lately like nobody's business, but I've been resisting the temptation so far.

Anything making you queasy or sick:
Nadda.

Gender:
Little guy!

Labor Signs:
Not really, I don't think. I have another check up on Tuesday, so we'll see if Huck is making any progress in there!

Symptoms:
This little thing called "lightning crotch." Very appropriately named. Very painful. Also, tons of pelvic pain and pressure and the return of pretty bad sciatica, especially at night when I'm trying to sleep or when I'm crawling in and out of bed.

Belly Button in or out?Out

Wedding rings on or off?STILL on! It's a pregnancy miracle!

Happy or Moody most of the time:My emotions are all over the place these days.

Looking forward to:My mommy being out of the hospital and returning to life as normal, and of course meeting this baby boy SO soon! September was a rough month. I'm looking forward to a much, MUCH happier October. It is the best month of the entire year, after all :)

MJ and Me - 38 Weeks

Baby Gill # 2 - 37 Weeks

[MJ photobomb!]

How far along?
37 weeks! Full term!

Maternity clothes?
Yes, and loving this cooler weather so I can wear cozy sweaters!

Sleep:

No bueno. Pregnancy insomnia is creeping in and between that and the constant back/pelvic pain, a good night of sleep is hard to come by.

Best moment this week:
Any time I get to visit with my mommy! These past three weeks have been so crazy, but I look forward to the 20 minute hospital visits every day.

Miss Anything?
Walking without feeling like my pelvis is about to snap in half. Pregnancy is so beautiful ;) haha.

Movement:
A ton of it, and Huck is running out of room. Every time he moves it takes my breath away and I have been able to feel his distinct body parts more clearly this past week (particularly elbows/knees and heels)

Food cravings:
Sweets and hot apple cider.

Anything making you queasy or sick:
Nothing to note this week, thankfully!

Gender:
Boy!

Labor Signs:
A few cramps and sharp pains that have made me stop in my tracks a couple of times, but I just had my internal check yesterday (such a pleasant time..ouch!) and, in the words of my doctor, "There's  nothing going on up there!" I hope Huck holds out until October, but hopefully he won't be quite as late as his big sister was!

Symptoms:
At 37 weeks pregnant, I'm pretty sure I could check every box on the "symptoms" list.

Belly Button in or out?
Out

Wedding rings on or off?
Still on! Woo!

Happy or Moody most of the time:
Given the circumstances of the last 20 days, I'd say that my mood has been more on the moody/emotional side, but I think that's to be expected with the storm that has been raging around us lately!

Looking forward to:
My mom getting out of the hospital (hopefully soon!) and getting to enjoy some R&R and downtime with her once Huck is born. Also obviously really looking forward to Huck being born! I can't wait to meet this little man who has been keeping me such good company and to have him meet his family! <3

MJ and Me - 37 Weeks

Baby Gill # 2 - 35 Weeks

How far along?
35 weeks

Maternity clothes?
Yes. My normal shirts are getting too short for my big belly and how low Henry is getting in there!

Sleep:
No bueno. I've had a lot on my mind this past week, to say the least.

Best moment this week:
Getting the news that my mom made it out of surgery okay, and being able to visit with her, talk to her, hug her, kiss her, and hold her hand every day since while she is in the ICU. God is good.

Miss Anything?
My mommy. I don't even care if I'm "too old" to say that.

Movement:
Non stop!

Food cravings:
Nothing really. My appetite hasn't really been too big this week with everything going on.

Anything making you queasy or sick:
Not really.

Gender:
Boy!

Labor Signs:
I've had a little bit of minor cramping here and there, and my pelvis is starting to get pretty sore.

Symptoms:
See above. Also, my feet have been a bit puffier than usual lately, but nothing nearly as bad as they wre at this point with Marleigh!

Belly Button in or out?
Out

Wedding rings on or off?
STILL on!

Happy or Moody most of the time:
This week has been an emotional roller coaster. I have gone from the highest highs to the lowest lows and back up and down again, multiple times. I don't even know what emotion I have been experiencing, but I know that I am beyond thankful and slightly exhausted.

Looking forward to:
More visits with my mom, the doctors "fixing the boo boo on her head," and hopefully being home from the hospital in time to meet her newest little grand baby in a couple weeks!

MJ and Me - 35 Weeks

8.31.2014

Baby Gill # 2 - 34 Weeks

How far along?

34 weeks! Time is flying!

Maternity clothes?
Still yes, for the most part. Long tanks and a few select tops still fit over the bump, but not many these days!

Sleep:

Actually pretty bad this week. Huck seems to be hanging out pretty low these days, resulting in lots of lower back pain and the return of some decently bad sciatica.

Best moment this week:
An impromptu camping weekend with friends this weekend and getting a nice long weekend to enjoy as a family before Luke heads back to work on Tuesday!

Miss Anything?
Walking without the pregnancy waddle ;)

Movement:
All. The. Time. My belly is a constant wave of motion from this little dude!

Food cravings:
Juice and fizzy drinks. Basically anything other than water.

Anything making you queasy or sick:
Apparently Huck isn't a huge fan of zucchini bread. Definitely had to briskly walk to the bathroom at work the other morning for a solid power puke. I have not missed morning sickness, and I'm hopeful that it isn't making its return!

Gender:
Little man :)

Labor Signs:
Nope!

Symptoms:
A bit of pelvic pain, back pain (as noted above), and a tiny bladder.

Belly Button in or out?
Out..

Wedding rings on or off?
On :)

Happy or Moody most of the time:
I'd say about 50/50.

Looking forward to:
Bills season, the start of fall, and meeting our baby boy! Only 5-6 weeks to go and although I'm nervous to go through the whole labor/childbirth process again, and a little nervous about having TWO kids, I am so excited to welcome him into our world! :)

MJ and Me - 34 Weeks

Baby Gill #2 - 33 Weeks

How far along?
33 weeks! Time is flying!

Maternity clothes?
Unfortunately, almost exclusively.

Sleep:
Much better now that my tooth is fixed, but waking up at least once a night this week to go to the bathroom. Henry is getting big in there and my bladder is feeling it!

Best moment this week:
Spending the week in the Adirondacks last week with my little family and my in-laws. Family hikes, exploring, Wahoo nights, and enjoying as much peace and quiet as you can with three little girls 4 and under running around all week! ;)

Miss Anything?
Definitely missing my wine! I also miss picking Marleigh up and holding her for long periods of time. She's just getting too darn big!

Movement:
Crazy movement almost all day long. I was just telling Luke that I don't remember Marleigh moving so much, but judging by my 33 week post with her, she was a mover and shaker (literally!) just like her little brother!

Food cravings:
Salty snacks. Not good for my waistline (or for bloating).

Anything making you queasy or sick:
I had a few major carsick episodes this past week while riding on the winding roads through the mountains and exploring new campgrounds. We had to pull over a couple times for it, even though I swore I had reached my vomiting quota for the year (or my lifetime).

Gender:
Boy!

Labor Signs:
Nope!

Symptoms:
I'm pretty sure my belly is getting bigger by the minute. I also noticed a tiny  bit of swelling in my feet this past week, but nothing major, thank goodness!

Belly Button in or out?
It's now visible through most of my shirts, so I think it's safe to say it's out.

Wedding rings on or off?
STILL on! I'm amazed and really excited about this.

Happy or Moody most of the time:
Happy camper :)

Looking forward to:
Football season, fall weather, and meeting this little boy of ours! It's still so surreal to me that we are going to be adding another person to our family soon. These past few weeks have gone by so fast, and I have a feeling the next six(ish) are going to follow suit!

Marleigh & me - 33 weeks

8.11.2014

Baby Gill # 2 - 30/31 Weeks

How far along?
31 weeks as of this past Friday. Single digits until baby boy is here (or due, at least)!

Maternity clothes?
Yes'm.

Sleep:
Decent, with the exception of a terrible toothache plaguing my sleep for the past two nights. A pregnant woman cannot function on less than two hours of total rest. It's a fact.

Best moment this week:
Celebrating Huck at his "Sprinkle" this past weekend with family and friends! So blessed to be able to bring another baby into so much love.

Miss Anything?
Normal pain medicine (Ibuprofen) since Tylenol doesn't do anything. This toothache is the worst.

Movement:
Tons! It's a good thing we don't have a waterbed, or we would be falling asleep sea-sick every night. Huck's kicks and jabs are getting super strong lately!

Food cravings:
Nothing to note.

Anything making you queasy or sick:
No :)

Gender:
Boy

Labor Signs:
Nothing yet!

Symptoms:
Weight gain ;)

Belly Button in or out?
Basically out.

Wedding rings on or off?
Still on! Every morning I wake up and expect them to be stuck on my fingers. They're still on and with a little bit of wiggle room. So happy about it!

Happy or Moody most of the time:
A bit moody these days. We have a lot going on (looking for a new house, Luke starting a new job in a couple weeks, that whole getting ready for a newborn again thing!) and I've been getting overwhelmed really easily. Thankful for a husband who is my voice of reason when my hormones get the best of me!

Looking forward to:
Going to the dentist today (can you tell this toothache is really bothering me?!) and enjoying a week in the ADK next week with Luke's family!

7.31.2014

Baby Gill # 2 - 29 Weeks

How far along?
29 weeks. My "Bump" app gave me a nice little panic attack by reminding me that we only have 10 weeks to go. TEN.

Maternity clothes?
Give me all the stretchy waistbands.

Sleep:
Much better now that I've been reunited with my Snoogle!

Best moment this week:
Taking advantage of a little "me time" this past weekend and enjoying a shopping date with my sister. I don't often take time for myself these days, so having a few hours to just be out and enjoy myself with some adult company (and to buy clothes for Huck!) was very much appreciated.

Miss Anything?
Being able to see my feet ;)

Movement:
Kicks and squirms almost all day long! It's a little awkward when my entire stomach bounces up and down with his ninja moves.

Food cravings:
Dr. Pepper. I need to get my hands on the caffeine free DP asap!

Anything making you queasy or sick:
No :)

Gender:
Boy

Labor Signs:
Nothing, thank goodness! I am excited to meet our little guy, but we need him to keep cooking in there for a while longer!

Symptoms:
Heartburn and forgetfulness -aka- "Baby Brain." The struggle is real.

Belly Button in or out?
The top is out, bottom is in. It's an interesting sight to see.

Wedding rings on or off?
Still on! So happy about this.

Happy or Moody most of the time:
Happy for the most part!

Looking forward to:
Getting all of our maternity photos back from this week and celebrating Huck with family and friends at our little "sprinkle" next weekend!

29 weeks with MJ

7.21.2014

Baby Gill # 2 - 28 Weeks

Snapped this photo quick before we ran out the door to go camping this past weekend, hence the tomboy look.

How far along?
28 weeks

Maternity clothes?
Yes. Is it bad that I'm already so sick of the clothes I have? With 12 weeks to go, I better start coming up with some more unique ways to wear my staples!

Sleep:
Not too bad, although I have been waking up a bit more often during the night lately with either heartburn, night sweats, or a sore lower back.

Best moment this week:
Renting a couple Redbox movies this past Sunday and having a mini at-home movie date night with Luke after we put Marleigh to bed. Hopefully we can actually leave the house for a date sometime soon, but a night together watching something other than episodes of The Office on Netflix was a start!

Miss Anything?
Getting tan in the summer rather than turning into a lobster. Pregnancy hormones do the weirdest things to the body. I'm currently still paying for a sunburn I got on our camping trip, complete with peeling, itchy skin.  For someone who never burns unless I'm pregnant, it's not really my cup of tea.

Movement:
"Henny" (as Marleigh calls him) and I have been enjoying our fair share of hide and seek games lately - he'll move in my belly, I'll lightly poke or press where he is, and he'll kick my hand back. It provides me with entertainment often! I love feeling his wiggles.

Food cravings:
Nothing too strong. Sweets and ice cream. Also, the weather has been relatively cool the past two days (high 60s-low 70s) and it's been making me really yearn for a nice big mug of hot apple cider!

Anything making you queasy or sick:
Nope! I even survived my glucose test this morning without having to use the nice little throw up garbage can they put in the waiting room. Success!

Gender:
Boy

Labor Signs:
Nadda.

Symptoms:
I've been noticing my face getting puffier lately around my cheeks, and my back still hurts from time to time. Heartburn has been creeping up on me pretty good right around bed time lately, but Tums seem to do the trick for now. Nothing too much to complain about!

Belly Button in or out?
It can't really seem to make up it's mind lately. It's more of a "half-ie" than an innie or an outie these days.

Wedding rings on or off?
Still on, still with room to spare!

Happy or Moody most of the time:
Happy, but a bit more sensitive than normal. Sometimes it seems like my eyes start crying about stupid little things on their own without me even feeling sad. I'm not really sure what that's all about. Blame all the things on hormones, shall we?

Looking forward to:
Camping (again) this weekend and getting the nursery prints and bedding in the mail that we ordered last weekend! I can't wait to start decorating the kids' shared space. It was one of my favorite things to do for Marleigh when I was pregnant with her, and I'm hoping that it will be just as much of a bonding experience for me with Huck this time around!

Speaking of my face getting puffy.... Marleigh & Me at 28 weeks. Yikes!

7.11.2014

Baby Gill # 2 - 27 Weeks

Oh, my poor Henry. I've fallen two whole weeks behind on my weekly updates. Blame it on being gypsies this month!

How far along?
27 weeks

Maternity clothes?
You bet. I still think I'm going to need a few more tops to last me through the summer, but so far my non-maternity tanks are still fitting (though they're a bit shorter than they usually are)!

Sleep:
I've fallen asleep to the sound of a crackling bonfire and waves lapping up against the shore for the past seven nights. It's hard not to sleep well with those kinds of conditions!

Best moment this week:
Every single minute of our family camping trip.

Miss Anything?
Limearitas!

Movement:
Huck is a mover and a shaker! I have a feeling he's going to be a very active little guy, judging from the way he's constantly punching, kicking, and wiggling around in my belly!

Food cravings:
Nothing lately

Anything making you queasy or sick:
Nothing! I haven't taken my medicine in 2+ weeks now (knock on wood).

Gender:
Muchacho

Labor Signs:
Not yet! 3 months until my due date!

Symptoms:
The occasional sciatica flare up still, and lots and lots of trips to the bathroom.

Belly Button in or out?
Still in for now.

Wedding rings on or off?
No dirty looks from people suspecting I'm a teen mom yet! My wedding rings are still fitting, and with wiggle room to spare!

Happy or Moody most of the time:
Happy camper

Looking forward to:
Our next family getaway (next weekend - we can't get enough) and starting to decorate Huck and Marleigh's soon-to-be shared bedroom. Etsy, here I come!

Marleigh & Me at 27 weeks

Baby Gill # 2 - 24 Weeks

[Sorry for the repeat photo. This was actually taken in-between 23 and 24 weeks, and time
got away from me during week 24, so this will have to serve as a bump update for both!]

How far along?
24 weeks

Maternity clothes?
Yes, and already getting sick of my tops!

Sleep:
Not so great this week. I have either allergies or a nasty cold which has kept me up a lot the past few nights coughing and sniffling. Not so fun, especially when coughing makes your sciatica pain about 100 times worse!

Best moment this week:
My prenatal massage on Saturday afternoon. Take me back to those glorious 50 minutes! Redoing our front landscaping was also great, seeing as I have been wanting to do it for about two years now!

Miss Anything?
Nyquil? ;)

Movement:
Huck's movement has changed a lot this week! I can still feel the kicks and punches but I've also been able to feel his squirms a lot stronger lately. So fun!

Food cravings:
Fizzy drinks. I've been really enjoying my San Pellegrino lately, particularly the blood orange flavor.

Anything making you queasy or sick:
I had a throw up episode on Sunday morning that came out of nowhere, but other than that, I've been feeling much better lately!

Gender:
Boy! I had an ultrasound this week after a minor scare Tuesday morning, and the ultrasound tech gave me a mild heart attack when she said she wasn't "confident" it was a boy because she was going so fast with her review of the "parts." Thankfully, she went back through and Huck uncrossed his legs and -- he's still a he, thank goodness!

Labor Signs:
No, and hoping I don't have any until that glorious 37 week, full term mark (or after, but not too much after)!

Symptoms:
Sciatica, sleepiness, and the occasional heartburn.

Belly Button in or out?
In... for now.

Wedding rings on or off?
Still on!

Happy or Moody most of the time:
Happy :)

Looking forward to:
This weekend (Luke's first weekend of summer vacation!) and a short work week next week, followed up with our trip to the Adirondacks!

Marleigh & Me at 24 weeks

6.25.2014

On scares and second babies

Yesterday morning, I woke up after a mostly sleepless night full of coughing, sniffling, and more coughing. I wasn't feeling well, and felt like something might be up with my body, but I crawled out of bed and went to start my day. I was right about my gut feelings, and made my way out of the bathroom with that overwhelming, sinking feeling in my stomach. Huck was giving us a little scare, and I tried my best to stay calm. Luke left for work and I called my OBGYN, just to be safe, and they told me to make an appointment for an ultrasound to double check on things. I called my mom and she, thankfully, was able to leave work to come help watch Marleigh so that I could get checked out.

I was still feeling Huck moving around in my belly quite a bit, so I was pretty confident that everything was okay, but no pregnant woman ever wants to have a scare like that at 24 weeks - or ever, for that matter! Once I got into the ultrasound room, the tech did her job and checked everything out with the baby from head to toe, back to the head, and to the toes again. About five minutes into the ultrasound, she had asked me if we knew if the baby was a boy or a girl, which I answered, and she continued on.

It wasn't until about an hour later that she got a look of concern on her face. Again, something no pregnant woman wants to see. I asked her if everything was okay, and she told me that when she was going through her initial checks of the baby, she wasn't "100% confident that it's a boy." Cue minor panic.

I suddenly had about a hundred thoughts racing through my mind at once. What do you mean it might not be a boy? We saw the parts so clearly at 12 weeks, and again at our second ultrasound. What would Luke's grandma say? What about the adorable little boy clothes I've been picking out? Or his little face that I've been dreaming of?

The most prevalent thought I had: I already feel guilty about feeling less connected to this baby in comparison to how I felt when I was pregnant with Marleigh. And now the baby I've been making a conscious effort to know and bond with, my little boy, may not be a boy at all!?

I was trying to remain positive and think on the bright side. A healthy baby is all that matters. And then the baby moved "its" legs (because for a couple minutes, he became an it again) and I don't think I've ever been happier to see a penis in my life! ;)

So, in summary... Baby Gill #2 is still a Henry; he is measuring perfectly on schedule; he still has a precious little profile; and, most importantly, he is healthy! I'm hoping he takes it easy on me from here on out and doesn't give us anything else to worry about. I'll be cherishing the reassuring kicks and squirms as much as possible for the next 15 weeks!

6.23.2014

Baby Gill # 2 - 23 Weeks

How far along?
23 weeks

Maternity clothes?
You bet. My maternity jeans are still in the stage where the full panels don't quite want to stay up over my baby bump, so I'm almost constantly tugging on them to try to keep them from falling down, but I probably won't have that "problem" much longer so I guess I should appreciate the fact that they're a little too big right now! I'm still fitting into most of my non-maternity tank tops and t-shirts, which is nice seeing as I really despise shopping for new maternity clothes.

Sleep:
Fantastic, thankfully! Every once in a while my sleep is interrupted with trips to the bathroom, but it's not every night multiple times a night (yet).

Best moment this week:
Escaping on Friday night for another camping getaway with our little family.

Miss Anything?
Ice cold Bud Light Lime around a campfire.

Movement:
Kicks and squirms and punches all the live-long day! I love each and every one of them. Except for sometimes when it literally feels like he's scratching me from the inside. What is up with that? I swear this kid is going to be born with talons! haha.

Food cravings:
I haven't necessarily been craving anything, but I can't seem to get enough chocolate-y things lately. I'm usually more of a Sour Patch Kids/Swedish Fish kind of girl, so it's been kind of nice to want and actually really enjoy the occasional candybar and brownie lately!

Anything making you queasy or sick:
Nothing out of the ordinary, besides mornings still here and there.

Gender:
Boy!

Labor Signs:
No, thank goodness! At least 15 weeks until we're ready for that!

Symptoms:
Some minor heartburn every once in a while, and random sciatica flareups. I've been trying to exercise every day by taking at least one walk a day pushing Marleigh around the block in her stroller, which sometimes seems to help it and sometimes seems to make it worse. Luckily I still have my heating pad to keep me company on the rough nights!

Belly Button in or out?
In.

Wedding rings on or off?
On, with ease still! Hopefully I won't have to ditch them quite so early this time around, or maybe not even at all! (Wishful thinking?)

Happy or Moody most of the time:
Happy!

Looking forward to:
Luke being done with work for the summer (9 more school days!) and taking our week long camping trip to the Adirondacks for the 4th of July!

Baby Gill # 2 - 22 Weeks

How far along?
22 weeks

Maternity clothes?
Yes. Also, I want all of the crazy patterned/printed pants with elastic waistbands to get in my closet right meow. Particularly these and these. And ESPECIALLY these.

Sleep:
Still pretty good, unless you count waking up somewhere between the hours of 12:30 and 4 every night/morning when zombie Marleigh shuffles her way into our room to snuggle in between us! (A habit we really should be breaking, but...oh well)

Best moment this week:
Watching Marleigh's face light up when she got to ride a "school bus" today during our afternoon with mimi and papa! She was SO excited!

Miss Anything?
Nope.

Movement:
Mr. Huck is a wiggle worm! I've been feeling him more consistently and much stronger these days. I could even see him moving around last night before bed!

Food cravings:
Not particularly. I finally got around to trying this recipe for a salted caramel frappucino (with a couple modifications, because a half cup of sugar in one drink is just...no). It's so delicious that I want to drink it almost every waking minute. Except that would be disgusting, so I've limited it to just once a day.

Anything making you queasy or sick:
Pretty much just the hours between 6-8 AM every other day. Sometimes I can go three days without the all-too-familiar feeling of pre-puke, but that tends to be the limit.

Gender:
Little guy!

Labor Signs:
No!

Symptoms:
Some signs of heartburn creeping in. Nothing too major!

Belly Button in or out?
In.

Wedding rings on or off?
On.

Happy or Moody most of the time:
Happy, but a bit sensitive. Thanks, hormones!

Looking forward to:
Meeting Huck's future best friend, Evan (Congratulations, Lauren & Ty)! And yet another family camping trip this upcoming weekend!

Baby Gill # 2 - 21 Weeks

How far along?
21 weeks

Maternity clothes?
Yes, with a few new ones added to the collection thanks to my wonderful mommy!

Sleep:
Really good. Thanking my lucky stars for that.

Best moment this week:
Spending the weekend camping with just Luke and Marleigh (and Huck)! The weather was perfect, and it was so nice to get away just the three (4!) of us for a couple nights. I love our little family!

Miss Anything?
Not really.

Movement:
Getting stronger and stronger lately! I was even able to see one of his kicks today. So weird/cool. I think we have his big feet to thank for that!

Food cravings:
Nothing really to note.

Anything making you queasy or sick:
Nothing this weekend, actually. I'm on day 3 with no medicine and haven't thrown up yet, so that's a new personal record! Hoping it continues!

Gender:
Boy!

Labor Signs:
No!

Symptoms:
Just a growing belly ;)

Belly Button in or out?
In.

Wedding rings on or off?
On.

Happy or Moody most of the time:
Happy!

Looking forward to:
This weekend and getting my hair done on Saturday with my sister. My messy mom bun is completely out of control these days. Momma needs a good trim! I'm also really looking forward to Luke being done with work for the summer in a few weeks!

5.28.2014

Baby Gill # 2 - 20 Weeks

How far along?
20 weeks (+4 days)

Maternity clothes?
You betcha. My normal shirts still fit me for the most part, but non-maternity pants (unless they're super stretchy or a size too big) are out of the question these days.

Sleep:
Wonderful!

Best moment this week:
Spending the weekend away camping with the family! It was our camper's maiden voyage and we had a full house :) The weather was perfect and my shoulders have the sunburn to prove it. I can't wait to get away again this weekend!

Miss Anything?
Not really.

Movement:
Huck is pretty active in the mid-mornings and at around 9:00 at night. He gives me little punches and kicks here and there throughout the day, which always make me stop and smile. It's nice to have little reminders of his presence while I'm busy chasing his big sister around!

Food cravings:
I've never been much of a chocolate girl, but I've definitely had the craving for it lately. S'mores over the weekend helped!

Anything making you queasy or sick:
Still struggling with morning sickness. So far, two days is my limit for being able to skip taking my anti-nausea medicine. Today was day 3 and I definitely had to concentrate on not throwing up when I was getting ready for work this morning, so I gave in and took one of those magical little pills to make it better. I'm thankful that the Zofran works for me, but I hate having to rely on medicine every morning. I hope I won't have to take it the full pregnancy but at 20 weeks, the outlook isn't looking too bright on that.

Gender:
Boy!

Labor Signs:
No!

Symptoms:
Henry seems to be pretty cozy on my bladder these days, so my main symptom lately has been frequent trips to the bathroom. I've also been feeling some slight heartburn creeping up on me the past few days. Hopefully that subsides!

Belly Button in or out?
In.

Wedding rings on or off?
On.

Happy or Moody most of the time:
Happy, but a bit more sensitive than I was when I was pregnant with Marleigh (at least from what I remember).

Looking forward to:
My next doctor's appointment tomorrow to hear Huck's heart beat and camping this weekend just the three (four) of us! We're trading in our usual trees and tranquility of the Adirondacks for the beach and shores of Lake Erie. Hopefully the weather will be cooperative so we can have some fun in the sun!

Baby Gill # 2 - 19 Weeks

How far along?
19 weeks (+ 4 days)

Maternity clothes?
Still somehow managing to wear my normal jeans (with the hair tie trick) but they're getting more and more uncomfortable. I need to bite the bullet and buy some new maternity jeans, but it's probably just about the last thing I want to spend money on right now, so I'm being stubborn and waiting until it's absolutely necessary!

Sleep:
We just got a new-to-us mattress handed down from my in-laws. It's a queen (we had a double before) and a pillow top. I slept like a dream last night!

Best moment this week:
Getting away for a mini staycation with my handsome husband. An entire day/night of HGTV watching, Starbucks coffee drinking, TGI Fridays eating, "gambling" at the casino (and coming out $30 richer), and soaking up some quality time and R&R together. It was just what I needed!

Miss Anything?
We're going camping this weekend, so I'm going to call it in advance and say that I miss limearitas.

Movement:
The ninja kicks are coming back! Feeling Marleigh move in my belly was my favorite part of pregnancy last time, and I think the same will go for Huck. I love feeling him wiggle and kick in there! The movements are starting to get a lot more noticeable, and I don't think it will be too much longer until you can feel them from the outside!

Food cravings:
I could really go for an Oreo McFlurry (with caramel sauce) right now.

Anything making you queasy or sick:
Nothing in particular. Still taking my medicine pretty much daily. Every once in a while I work up the nerve to skip it for a day, but most mornings I still wake up feeling pretty pukey. Ready for that part to end (will it ever?!).

Gender:
Muchacho.

Labor Signs:
No!

Symptoms:
I need to pay a visit to Victoria's Secret (or Walmart, if I'm being honest) for a new bra soon. My growing chest size is just about the only "symptom" that I have lately, and it's out. of. control.

Belly Button in or out?
In.

Wedding rings on or off?
On.

Happy or Moody most of the time:
Happy!

Looking forward to:
Seeing our little guy on the ultrasound screen bright and early in the morning! And then going to the bank to talk pre-qualification for mortgages after that. Wednesday night, we're going to an open house for a house that we found online that seems like it just might be perfect for us. We'll see if we're right about it, or if the timing is even right to act on it...! Trying not to get my hopes up too much!

Baby Gill #2 - 18 weeks

How far along?
18 weeks

Maternity clothes?
Working my way back into my maternity wardrobe. The weather is getting warmer (finally!) but I'm already developing a love/hate relationship with the heat of the sun. I wore my first maxi dress the other day running errands with MJ and I'm not going to lie and say I didn't cringe when I put it on. I definitely want to try to get away from the all-maxi-skirts-all-the-time maternity "style" I had the first time around!

Sleep:
No major complaints in the sleep department, besides the fact that there is never, ever enough of it!

Best moment this week:
Celebrating Mother's Day with my family yesterday - a few garage sales, great company, good food, and lots of doing absolutely nothing. Right up my alley!

Miss Anything?
Sangria ;)

Movement:
Huck is making himself known more often lately. It's still not all day every day, but I notice his wiggles every now and then and each time, I am reminded of how amazing it is.

Food cravings:
It doesn't really matter what it is... just give me a lot of it! My appetite has been on the rise lately, which I guess is a good thing, since I couldn't bring myself to eat much of anything during that wonderful first trimester!

Anything making you queasy or sick:
Mornings (still). Starting this week by taking the zofran every other day, skipping on my days "off." Hopefully it will work so I can wean myself off of it.

Gender:
Little man :)

Labor Signs:
No!

Symptoms:
Sensitive skin. I forgot how easily I get sunburned when I get pregnant. I usually tan really easily in the sun, but for whatever reason, my pregnant hormones bring out my Irish side and just a few minutes in the sun produces burnt skin and freckles on my face. Not my favorite!

Belly Button in or out?
In.

Wedding rings on or off?
On.

Happy or Moody most of the time:
Happy!

Looking forward to:
A mini stay-cation and Mother's Day/Father's Day celebration with Luke this weekend. We booked a hotel room in Niagara Falls and we're planning on doing absolutely nothing productive for an entire day and night. And sleeping in on Sunday (if my body even knows how to do that anymore)! I'm already missing Marleigh thinking about being away from her, but it is going to be a much needed 24 hours of R&R for mommy and daddy.

Baby Gill #2 - 17 weeks

How far along?
17 weeks

Maternity clothes?
Still pretty much just pants. My mom bought me a new pair of maternity jeans from Old Navy (online) and I was so excited when they came in and fit me perfect -- until I looked down and realized that they were about 5 inches too long. Who really has that long of legs, Old Navy? Seriously. So I guess thus began my maternity clothes shopping frustrations!

Sleep:
I've been sleeping good still. Up every now and then for a quick bathroom trip, but then I've been able to fall back asleep quickly, which I'm thankful for.

Best moment this week:
Getting to my parents' house after work last night for dinner and having Marleigh sprint towards me screaming "Mommy!" with her arms up in the air :)  She makes me feel pretty special!

Miss Anything?
Yesterday was Cinco de Mayo, so you could say that I miss margaritas a bit.

Movement:
I fell asleep to baby wiggles in my belly the other night, and I had almost forgotten how amazing it feels! The movement has been more frequent and more noticeable lately, but still nothing too extreme.

Food cravings:
I may or may not have devoured an entire can of BBQ Pringles yesterday. So there's that... (don't judge me.)

Anything making you queasy or sick:
Not really. I have been really trying to wean myself from taking the Zofran but I discovered that quitting cold turkey is not really the best plan. After two days without taking anything, I woke up the next morning and was reacquainted with the porcelain throne... so I'm sticking to taking the medicine in the mornings and hoping that someday soon I can quit altogether.

Gender:
Boy! His first outfits that I ordered should be here soon and I can't wait!

Labor Signs:
No!

Symptoms:
A growing baby bump :) My sciatica still comes and goes but it has been pretty mild this week. I'll take it!

Belly Button in or out?
In.

Wedding rings on or off?
On.

Happy or Moody most of the time:
Happy :)

Looking forward to:
Our next ultrasound in a couple weeks to check in on our littlest love. Also, T-18 days until Memorial Day camping in the Adirondacks and our camper's maiden voyage!

Baby Bow Ties

Today, I finally got around to ordering Henry his first outfit(s) online. I have been feeling so guilty for waiting this long to do it. When we had the ultrasound to find out Marleigh was a girl, we rushed to Target that night to pick out her first items of clothing. We stopped over to Party City to buy a single pink balloon so that we could announce the news to our families (and on Facebook and the blog). We were so excited and so giddy to finally know the little girl who was growing in my belly!

Maybe it's the fact that we found out way earlier than we were planning to, or maybe just because it's not our first time at the rodeo, but our ultrasound and "gender reveal" was a month ago and we still hadn't purchased anything for our precious little boy. Now, don't get me wrong. We were/are definitely not in the least bit less excited about the fact that Huck is a boy. In fact, we both may or may not have cried complete tears of joy when that ultrasound tech told us the news (hint:we did)! I think I'm still in a little bit of shock, a month later, that I am going to have a son. Little girls are all I know, so finding out we are having a boy has sort of thrown me for a loop - in a good way! I can't wait to experience life with him and his big sister, and I know we are in for lots of laughs watching our two goofy little kids growing up together.

Today, after a month of scouring and looking for the perfect items, I clicked "purchase" and bought Huck the cutest little outfits from H&M. I was going to stick to Baby Gap, but a tiny little bow tie and precious baby baseball jacket did me in, and I just couldn't resist them! I can just picture bringing our little bundle of joy home in that bow tie and onesie with the slouchy baby sweatpants. As much as I want to really cherish this pregnancy, I cannot wait for the beautiful October day when he makes his grand debut in our world!
